Blind Date With a Book?

I think most people are familiar with the “blind date with a book” concept by now, but just in case, I’ll summarize. The basic concept is to get you to pick up a book you might not have necessarily chosen for yourself; books are wrapped up and a few clues are scrawled across the wrapping. These should be something vague enough that they won’t give away what the book is, but should give the reader a good idea of what kind of book to expect. Clues can be a genre, whether or not it has a happy ending, “contains dragons,” you name it.

My book club does a Christmas book swap using the “blind date with a book” style and I thought it’d be fun to share with you guys what I’m bringing and see if anyone can hazard a guess as to what book it is.

Can you guess what’s under the wrapping? And what book would you bring to a book swap like this when you don’t know who will end up receiving it? Let’s discuss in the comments!

      1. I go to The Girly Book Club meetings. It’s an international book club for women with lots of different chapters, and I’ve had a really good experience with them. I also do a little blogging for them, so I get a few of my ARCs that way as well, which is a fun bonus. I’d recommend seeing if they have a chapter near you. If not, they’re always looking for people willing to start up new chapters. It’s cool because all the chapters read the same book at the same time, so you get to discuss in person with your local chapter, but if you can’t make it, you can usually find people in the Facebook group to discuss it with. They also do interviews with the authors most months and you can join live and submit questions to them.
….That was a lot of rambling. I just really love my book club. lol

      2. I’m moving near Dallas, Texas in about a month and didn’t see it listed. I may have to look into starting a chapter once the family and I are settled. Thanks for telling me about it!!
